People’s Congress

April 27, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

It Takes Roots People’s Congress –
Solutions for the People by the People on the Frontlines!

The People’s Congress, Emcee’d by Kymone Freeman from WeACT Radio and Elizabeth Yeampierre from Uprose in NYC comes into session to put forth Just Transition solutions that move us away from an extractive economy and political system that is destructive. In its place people put forth solutions for expanded sanctuaries that are informed by people-led budgets and community controlled energy, housing, food, land, and water that are regenerative and value life.

Come join speakers from DC and around the world as we come together and frame visionary opposition to an administration that wants to sacrifice those most impacted by injustice and climate change in exchange for militarization and corporate interests. The People have spoken from DC to Brazil, we are tired of False Solutions. We are standing up with a vision to reinvest in community and we are doing it together!

Join local community leaders and the It Takes Roots Frontline Delegation at the Thurgood Marshall Center in Washington, DC on Thursday April 27th prior to the People’s Climate March to listen and engage in thoughtful dialogue about how we can move forward and grow in the greedy face of injustice.
